Keep Your Social Networking Social!

July 7th, 2010 by Karla Buzzell | Tags: , , , , , , | Posted in Internet marketing, social networking |

Social networking sites are the rage these days. A great deal of online marketing has to do with social networking sites like PeopleString, Twitter, Myspace, Facebook and others. Social networking is a different kind of marketing, but it can be effective and fun too.  I have seen a lot of marketers try to start to build their business using social networking sites, but I have noticed many of then are not being very social!

It might sound obvious, but if you’re going to join a social networking site, you need to talk to other people!   I see people who throw their information out there on a Facebook page or on Twitter, but I never see them talking to other people…. this is so important!   If you want to just say your piece and move on, there are other formats for doing that. Try article writing and blogging for instance. But if you’re going to be on Twitter, you need to be tweeting to others.

On a social networking site, the more social you are, the more attention you will get. That is a good thing. The more social you are, the more friends you will get. The more friends you have, the more people who can potentially see what your business is all about.   Do you get the picture?

When it comes to social networking sites, you want to keep it light and fun.  Sure your business is a serious thing for you, but Twitter isn’t exactly the place to be overly serious.  It is a fun, silly website, so be social and have fun.  People can tell if you are only doing something to get people to go to your website.  That is a big turn off.  I don’t want to get a message just telling me to go to a site that I don’t care about.   Say hi to me instead.  Maybe later I will go to your site!   Have conversations with other marketers, exchange success stories and tips and maybe just have a good laugh. This will pay off in big way.   People will start to be more interested in you and your business and it will end up being a whole lot more fun too!

Get involved with the rage!  Don’t be shy about social networking.  Talk to people, have fun, and keep your social networking social!

Want to Play Monopoly?

July 4th, 2010 by Karla Buzzell | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , | Posted in Internet marketing, Online business, home Based Business, internet savvy, social networking, working smarter |

Did you play Monopoly as a child?  Do you still like to play this game?  Marketing a business on the internet is a lot like a giant Monopoly board . If you know how to play the game you will do very well, which should be your goal.   Everybody knows that in the game of Monopoly you can’t start to really build on your property until you have all of the same color. If you own Boardwalk and Park Place, you will do very well and make a lot of money, but if you only own Park Place you won’t make as much. The same goes for your online business. It is important to own as much matching real estate as possible.

When you are deciding on the name of your website and you are branding yourself online, you want to make sure that you are using something that you can monopolize. That doesn’t mean that you have to be 100% original and unique, it just means that you need to find a name or a niche that you can make your own.

Let’s say that you won the domain name MyHomeBusiness.com (this is of course just as an example, I am not sure this is even a site). You would then want to find every place possible for you to use MyHomeBusiness on the internet. You want to name your Youtube channel youtube.com/ MyHomeBusiness, your Twitter name to be MyHomeBusiness, your blog to be MyHomeBusinessblog.com, and any other sites. Do you see what I mean?

Whatever you call your site, you want to brand yourself with it as much as possible. You want to make sure that whenever people type in My Home Business into the search bar, they come to your site and not another. By picking a name and niche that can be almost totally yours, you will be able to dominate and brand yourself in a much more effective way.

Whenever you buy a new domain name or you think of the name of a new product that you are going to be promoting, you need to be thinking about all the different ways that you can use that name online.  Just the  dot com isn’t enough by itself anymore.  With so many social networking sites and keywords playing such a big part in your success online, you cannot afford to just have a great domain name.   You need to brand yourself completely on the internet.

Building a business online is just like a game of Monopoly.   When you have all the right pieces in place, you can’t lose!

This Social Network SECRET Could Make You A Fortune

June 23rd, 2010 by Karla Buzzell | Tags: , , , , , , , , , | Posted in internet savvy, online shopping, social networking, working smarter |

We can all agree that Social Networking is HOT but…

Most social networks have one ENORMOUS shortcoming. They display advertisements on your site and earn advertising revenue for that but they keep 100% of it.

Look…right now…on your Facebook or MySpace page and see if you see ANY advertisements. I’ll bet that you do.

This Social Network pays you to place these ads on your site. You don’t even have to look at them.

Still Curious….or maybe
Skeptical?

I understand things that sound to good to be true usually are not, BUT this is completely different. You know…Google and Yahoo have programmed everyone to log in to search the web from their surf engines.

When we spend time on Google, Yahoo, Facebook, MySpace, etc, we see advertisements on their sites and they get paid and 100% of this revenue goes straight to them.

This Social Network is a very generous and smart company. They are smart enough to know that 30% of everything is better than 100% of nothing.

Don’t get left behind and miss out on your revenue share. Every month you wait…you leave money on the table.

Make Money Walking to Your Mailbox! And Other Easy Ways, Too.

September 23rd, 2009 by Karla Buzzell | Tags: , , , , , , , | Posted in internet savvy, online shopping, social networking, working smarter |

Having taken most of the summer off to spend time with my family, it it time I get back to work! Not that I have been idle. But I have not been writing blogs or doing articles. I have been on the web and social networks, and keeping in touch with friends.

I discovered this really neat website that I am really excited about. It has an entire new slant on how social networking can work. People String is just 6 months old, but is already ranked in Alexa. Did you ever hear of Facebook or Twitter a few years ago? I know that I didn’t. I wish that I had been a founding member of those organizations.

There are many unique features to the website.

The founders are paying members to be on the site. They are sharing a percentage of the profits from the advertisers to each member. Just for doing what you do everyday! When you go to Yahoo or Google, they have ads, but they keep the profits.

It has the world’s coolest email! Beside the normal email program, you have the ability to have your emails self destruct, sent video emails, check your sent mail to see if they have been read and several other features.

You can join the Mailbox_Cashbox program and elect to get snail mail sent to you that you will get paid to read. You already get junk mail every day, why not get paid to receive it!

There will be a social network up within the next few days. They plan to grow fast and catch up with Facebook and Twitter.

There is also a feature to get cash back for shopping on the net. The only other time I heard about this was a program that charges $19.95 a month to belong. This is free.

I have been adding members to my string so that when this explodes, I will be a position to start making some very serious money.  This is definitely a way of working smarter.

Why not join me and get paid for doing the things you are already doing? Get in on the basement floor to a new innovative company.

Facebook vs. Twitter: Which is Better for Your Business?

June 5th, 2009 by Karla Buzzell | Tags: , , , , | Posted in home Based Business, social networking |

A friend of mine, Brittany, wrote this article and offered to allow me to post it on my blog.  I think it is well worth reading!

A social networking website is something that allows you to connect with lots of people from your computer. Two of the most popular social networking sites out there right now are Twitter and Facebook. Both of them give you the ability to promote your business online and both of them have a huge following in the home based business arena. So which one is better for your business? This is a smack down between Twitter and Facebook!

Here’s how it’s going to go down. There are 5 categories: How easy is it to use, popularity, freedom to market, ways to market and number of people on each website. We’ll go over these categories one by one and then the winner will be crowned! You ready? Here goes…

Round 1 - Easy To Use

While both sites are extremely user friendly and can be figured out without much trouble I have to give this one to Twitter. There are really very few things you can actually DO on Twitter which is what makes it so easy to use. While Facebook is by no means hard to understand the simplicity of Twitter makes things a while lot easier.

Round goes to - Twitter

Round 2 - Popularity

At the time this article was written Facebook was the 4th most visited site online beat only by Yahoo, Google and Youtube. Twitter, while very popular was number 49… Not even close.

Round goes to - Facebook

Round 3 - Freedom to market

While you can certainly market on Facebook, Twitter gives you much more freedom. Facebook will penalize you if you add too many friends at once and you also can’t send out very many messages. Twitter doesn’t give you those restrictions so the round has to go to Twitter

Round goes to - Twitter

Round 4 - Ways to market

This one is Facebook all the way. With Twitter you are limited to the things you can do and while you can post links to pictures it’s just not the same as Facebook. There is just so much more you can do on Facebook that we had to declare them the winner and that brings us into a dead heat as we move to the final category…

Round goes to - Facebook

Round 5 - How many people are on it

Obviously the more people that are on any site the better because it gives you a better opportunity to talk to more prospects. When we did our research we found that of everyone on the internet 1.8% of the people online visit Twitter daily. When we ran the numbers on Facebook we found that over 17% of internet users visit Facebook! This is hands down Facebook’s round.

Round goes to - Facebook

That means that while it was a very close race the winner and champion is…. FACEBOOK!   Of course you can market with great results on both this was really just for fun but we believe that for marketing your business online Facebook is a better choice than Twitter.
